To benefit Black Lives Matter in the UK, Virgil Abloh auctions signed pair of Off-White x Air Jordan 4 “Sail” now until Thursday June 25th. Virgil partners with British Electronic music collective Deviation after they launched its Inside/Outside Fundraiser for BLM Thursday June 18th. Virgil attempts to do more with regards to injustice after his comments about his own store being looted during riots. He announced the auction via social media with a post on Instagram saying, “[I] got together with some friends, each of us contributing to the sustained support of the Black Lives Matter cause and I’m auctioning an unreleased signed pair of these (with your name not mine per se).”
Additionally, all proceeds go to The Black Curriculum, an organization that addresses the lack of Black British history in the UK curriculum, as well as Inquest, support to families experiencing a “state-related death.” The Off-White™ x Air Jordan 4 “Sail” auction is currently live on eBay, and will run until 6 p.m. BST on Thursday, June 25. Likewise, the public release for the AJ 4 still comes June 25th. The winner will be able to chose their size as well as what and where Abloh signs. As of this article posting, the bid is roughly $20,000 USD and climbing. Stay tuned to see how much will be donated and who the lucky winner will be.
