Check out the Air Force 1 Low Black Katakana from the upcoming Nike “Worldwide Pack” set to release this Fall retailing for $140. Although among several in the Nike Worldwide Collection, the AF 1 Low Black Katakana takes on the addition of Japanese. Katakana is the secondary Japanese writing form used to break down syllables in the language. Additionally, it’s great for breaking down words that don’t translate directly in Japanese. While given a mostly Green Strike and White on Black upper, the low-profile silhouette rocks smooth leather underlays. Matte suede overlays repeat in Nike Worldwide graphics complete with the characters “ナイキ.” Likewise, we see the characters enlarged through the Flash Crimson translucent outsole. This literally translates to “Na-i-ke” which is how Nike is pronounced. The heel counter brings all the colors together in mini Swooshes with the addition of striking Aqua Blue. Already available in Asia, sneakerheads here in the states can expect the Air Force 1 Low Black Katakana and the rest of the Nike “Worldwide Pack” to drop sometime this Fall.
