Another brand new LEGO x adidas collaboration in the form of the Ultraboost DNA “Plate Shoes” releases today at 10:00 am retailing for $200. To quote the collaborators, “If you can dream it, you can build it”. No more is that idea reflected in the latest Ultra Boost DNA coated in Cloud White like a blank canvas. The Primeblue upper comes heavily perforated and fits the foot like a sock.
Primeblue, itself, being a game changer for recycling and sustainability, is made in part with Parley Ocean Plastic. Of the 50% of textile material used to create this model, 75% comes comprised of recycled ocean waste. Metallic Silver hits the toe wrap as well as the supportive Ultraboost branded heel counter. A familiar Lego Yellow appears on the textile sockliner and the co-branded sole inserts below.
Similar to the heels and eyestays of the ZX 8000 Color Pack, the toe box and sole inserts carry the interlocking pegs of the iconic building blocks. However, the quarter panel Three Stripes join in on the fun as fully functioning plates for Lego pieces. Simply snap your favorite colored blocks into place for a new style every time you wear them.
The Black Stretchweb outsole uses Continental Rubber, completing the look. By the time you read this, the LEGO x adidas Ultraboost DNA “Plate Shoes”will be ready to drop. So head over to adidas.com for your chance to cop and keep it locked to YankeeKicks for more news coming soon.
