Welcome back to the YankeeKicks closet for a special detailed look at the upcoming Nike Dunk Low “NY vs NY” releasing later this year.
Celebrating the return of the iconic basketball tournaments held in New York City and the division Nike created to showcase local high school talent, this Dunk Low plays with both smooth and tumbled leather as well as a mix of nylon and vinyl.
The smooth leather perforated toe box, quarter panels, ankle underlays, and nylon tongue arrive in a muted Green hue. This pairs nicely with the tumbled leather toe wrap, eyestays, heel counter, and ankle overlays all dressed in White.
Likewise, the laces and textile liner appear in white. Meanwhile, Bright Orange bursts through on the vinyl Nike branded tongue tab as well as the quarter panel Swoosh, giving off a more reflective appearance.
But what truly stands out about the upper lies in the almost tropical hue of Orange that shows up on the sole inserts. Again we see it making up the heel Nike embroidery as well as the lateral ankle “NY vs NY” with a tiny Gold Swoosh at its core.
Subsequently, the frosted transparent rubber outsole shouts out Dyckman Park, West 4th, Watson, Lincoln Park, Tri State, and Gersh Park where the tournaments have been held before and soon will again.
For now, no concrete release is known for the Nike Dunk Low “NY vs NY”. But, rumor has it they may drop by the end of the Summer. So be sure to stay tuned with YankeeKicks for more info coming soon and enjoy the original images.
