Getting ready to celebrate National Puerto Rican Day, Nike drop this Nike Air Max 97 “Puerto Rico” on June 5th retailing for $175.
This mostly Metallic Silver silhouette features White, Varsity Red, and Navy Blue accents. The brilliance of the Metallic Silver carries over to the tongue, laces, and mesh quarter panels.
The toe wrap and mudguard show off a little extra sparkle. 3M reflective tech wraps the overlays, piping on the tongue, toe wrap, and mudguard. Deep Navy Blue coat the tongue and sock liners as well and the sole inserts.
Metallic Silver text reading “Aqui Me Quedo” or “Here I Stay” in Spanish beautifully written along the sole inserts accompanied by a long Nike Swoosh. Mini PR flags act as adorable tongue pull tabs and helps the Varsity Red Swoosh embroidered on the Navy tab.
White looks stunning on the full-length Total Max White midsole leading into the mostly Navy rubber outsole. Additionally, it seems this special edition Nike Air Max 97 “Puerto Rico” comes with a “Puerto Rico Te Quiero” Nike branded towel. So, do you plan to rep your PR side when the AM 97 drops over the weekend? Stay tuned with YankeeKicks for more sneaker releases coming soon.
