Edison Chen and Kevin Poon want you to up your tea game as they tease the all-new CLOT x Nike Air Max 1 “K.O.D.-CHA.” The last few years produced amazing CLOT silhouettes and colorways with Nike. With the recent re-release of their 2006 AM 1 “Kiss of Death” just weeks ago, CLOT previews just one of their designs from the upcoming Fall/Winter 2021 “DYNASTY” showcase. Dubbed with the Mandarin word for “tea,” this reimagined Air Max 1 takes on richer, caffeinated hues. The color palette makes for a nice change and somehow creates an even more vivid silhouette. It’s easy to see why this colorway was a potential 2006 release and it’s a shame we’re only getting it now.

Like its sister silhouette, much focus is given to the suede panel pieces and transparent TPU perforated toe box. However, the ostrich embellishments around the collar are gone. The Mustard Yellow tongue tab plays nicely off the Rocky Tan upper and Sport Red accents. Medium Brown laces match the suede toe wrap and mudguard. Likewise, the tumble leather tongue opts for Medium Brown, while the quarter panel Swoosh chooses Red. Again we see Sport Red in the iconic CLOT embroidery on the Deep Brown heel counter to match the Air midsole.  

Just like its predecessors, the sole inserts and translucent rubber outsoles focus on Chinese medicine and pressure points. A Ch’i chart and list of pressure points for the former and a colorful reflexology map for the ladder. Sources report the CLOT Fall/Winter 2021 “DYNASTY” presentation happens on March 27th in Shanghai. Following their debut, the CLOT x Nike Air Max 1 “K.O.D.-CHA” releases exclusively through Edison Chen and Kevin Poon’s JUICE locations for $1,099 HKD/¥1,099 RMB/$4,900 NTD (approximately $170 USD).
