Too hot? Nah, the Nike Dunk Low “Reverse Papa Bear” kicks are just right, set to release globally at the end of the month retailing for $100. Another throwback theme gets a 2021 upgrade with the latest Dunk Low silhouette.

Back in November 2006, SB Dunk released three pairs of Dunks covered in vibrant suede and ridiculously furry underlays in a High, Mid, and Low profile silhouette, respectively. They dubbed this collection “The Three Bears Pack” from that age-old cautionary tale about breaking and entering. Now, we see a much more mature and definitely more subdued reimagining.

We still keep suede overlays dipped in Wheat and similar to the coat of a cartoon Brown bear. They perfectly encase this upper at the toe wrap, eyestays, heel/ankle panels, and heel counter, each a little fuzzier than the last.

However, we, thankfully, drop all that fur from the OG pack. While comical and fantastic to look at, it would be a hard sell in 2021 to rock materials that over-the-top. Instead, beautiful Dark Purple tumbled leather makes up the perforated toe box, quarter panels, and heel underlays.

Likewise, for the mesh tongue, textile liner, and rubber outsole below. Meanwhile, Light Fusion Red pops on the laces, quarter panel suede Swooshes, outsole arch, and finally the tongue and heel Nike embroidery. Additionally, Light Pink branding appears on the Wheat sole inserts, a playful choice. A White midsole wraps things and honestly, is the only thing that remains the same from the original idea.

Which makes this iteration so much more interesting. This more dressed-down version makes a perfect look for any occasion, whether you’re wandering through the woods or taking to the streets.
