We take an up close review of the recently released Runner 4D V2 from adidas Consortium.
Released December 21, 2019 and retailing for $350, the Consortium Runner 4D V2 “Collegiate Navy” arrives in an egg-colored adidas Consortium box. The Runner V2 4D Futurecraft comes off the success of its previous adidas 4D printed model.
The outer case is branded with the hand clasping Consortium logo, while the box itself carries the sentence “THE RESPECT IS MUTUAL” along the top outer edge. Looking at the coded side of the box, we also we a “Consortium” lined pull hole to easily access the sneakers inside.
Get into the look…
In detail, the Runner 4D shows off its namesake 4D Futurecraft midsole in a Aero Green and matching Continental rubber outsole. The upper blends layer upon layer of Primeknit, synthetic mesh, 3M detailing and asymmetrical suede lacing unit. Despite being dubbed “Collegiate Navy” the sneaker isn’t Blue, but rather tonal Grey, Black and Mint. . Standing out against the muted upper is the egg-White synthetic tongue. Similarly, White panels can be seen on the lateral sides.
Continuing the theme of asymmetry, lateral side panels, pull tabs and embroidery are all extended further than on the medial side. Going inside the Runner V2, we find Mint Green inserts and Volt Green in similarly asymmetrical wavy lines. However, removing these reveals the Green mesh window in the center of synthetic panels stitched to the liner’s base. Subsequently, we find instructional graphics adidas tech followed to create this incredible Runner V2 4D Futurecraft shoe.
