After word spread that Nike Face Masks were in the works, adidas partners with Carbon to create Face Shields to aid the fight against COVID-19. For the time being, this is the new normal. And thankfully, many of your favorite sneaker brands are stepping up and helping out in a major way. Carbon, the tech company behind adidas groundbreaking 4D printed runners like the Futurecraft and many more bring that technology to face shields for medical professionals as well as patients. Currently, 18,000 translucent guards large enough to cover the entire face secured by minty green 3D-printed lattice adjustable straps are being made in Carbon facilities in California. Hopefully, these shields will be ready to ship out soon with more coming. But time will tell when and how many. For now, we must all try to do out part by staying safe, connected but “distant” and keeping it locked here for more updates. And don’t forget to wash those hands.
