Kanye West is truly in his zone, releasing a new 700 colorway, following the successes of “Static” and “Inertia.”

Kanye West steps away from his typical dark, neutral palette in favor of the monochromatic tones of Blues, Whites and Grays with his latest Adidas installment, the Yeezy Boost 700 V2 “Hospital Blue.”

Standing alone…

After nearly 15 years of designing, Ye proves time and time again that he can deliver on quality footgear. Reminiscent of the muted scrubs sported by doctors and nurses alike, the cool tones showcased in the Hospital Blues subtlety break from one another in this 90s running style silhouette. Subdued pops of Steele Blue and Silver are seen throughout the design.

A closer look…

First, heavy-gauge mesh uppers and suede leather overlays catch the eye immediately. Next, 3M detailing can be seen across the eyestays, toe box, and heel; turning heads even in low light conditions. Lateral and medial side panel 3M weave its way through three curved stripes. Kanye’s characteristically thick midsoles and Boost cushioning make for great foot feel. Deep Gray outsoles are splashed with more 3M White swatches.

Generally Ye favors Off Whites, Grays, Black and Peach in his designs. On occasion we may see a more distinct statement. For example, the Boost 350 V2 GID “Glow” released in May of this year have an all over phosphorescent finish. Visually, they are set apart from other kicks in the Yeezy Collection. The same can now be said of Hospital Blue.

Lace loops wrap around the mudguard. Sneakerheads and West fans alike can appreciate the perforated heel counter overall sleek and sophisticated silhouette . Due to the beautifully crafted midsole’s responsive full-length Boost technology and a herringbone rubber outsole providing support and durability, not an ounce of comfort is sacrificed for style.

In addition, Hospital Blue pairs nicely with Black, Gray and Denim fabrics for an ultra-fine, toned down look that glows from the shoe up. HB’s lightly padded tongue and collar lining make for a slightly lighter sneaker.

Despite the hype surrounding his newest album “Jesus is King” and his other great drops this summer, the resale value on these shoes is surprisingly low, going below the original retail price of $300. Is West’s reign coming to an end? Unlikely. However, only time will tell. Stay posted here for the latest in sneaker news.
