adidas continues to honor the greats in 2020, celebrating the 50th anniversary of the Superstar with an upcoming Run-DMC model. Whether they are making us “Smile” with Stan Lee or helping fight a pandemic with Carbon Face Shields, adidas Brand truly is a Superstar. So what better way to celebrate the Superstar sneaker than with long time adidas supporters Run-DMC. Old school hip hop fans know how the trio created the first endorsement deal between a musical act and an athletic company back in the mid-80s. This Superstar keeps in line with the old school vibe by starting out with a traditional White shelled-toe leather upper. Likewise, the tongue, laces, liner and outsole also hit in White. Meanwhile, Matte Black Three Stripes appear on the perforated quarter panels and outline the tongue co-branding. Classic Run-DMC Red is used to accent the heel counter, and Superstar logo on the quarter panels. More co-branding can be found on the White sole insert. Stay tuned for an official release date.
