The internet has been abuzz with teased images of Virgil Abloh’s upcoming OFF-WHITE x Nike “The Twenty” capsule releasing over the course of 2021. Pixelated “Actually Pending” photos dropped to get sneakerheads guessing at a few silhouettes in the collection. After some research here’s what we found.
Breaking it down…
As it turns out, we’ve seen most of the silhouettes before. Although originally thought to be Sample models, sneakers like the OFF-WHITE x Air Jordan 1 High OG “Canary Yellow” go back to the 2019 Virgil Abloh “Figure of Speech” MCA Chicago exhibit. Tweety-colored forefoot and heel overlays balanced out with White leather and Sail suede and deconstructed detailing grace this AJ 1 High upper.
Up next, the two OFF-WHITE x Futura x Nike Dunk Low in Powder Blue and Orange. Thought to release back in December 2019 with three other colorways, these Futura interpretations combine Virgil’s iconic “Branding” with the Futura Lab logo with two-toned leather uppers.
Athlete models also make the cut in “The Twenty” as we find two Serena Williams x OFF-White x NikeCourt Flare 2 tennis silhouettes that debuted back in August of 2018. Both feature sparkly heels extending up the back of the leg. However, each sports its own separate Purple and Grey colorways.
Lastly, we find another two designs feature at the ICA Boston “Figures of Speech” exhibit in University Gold colorways. The differences in the pair a few, as they both carry a similar upper and color blocking. However, one model stands alone with the added detailing of the Black rubber outsole.
More images and information for the Virgil Abloh OFF-WHITE x Nike “The Twenty” should release over the next few weeks. So, be sure to keep it locked with YankeeKicks for all the details.
