Lil Uzi Vert recently implanted an 11 karat Pink diamond worth $24 million square on his forehead for all to see. While this may seem insane, random, and outlandish, the process took nearly 4 full years to accomplish. Rolling Stone spoke with Eliott Eliantee of Eliantee & Co Jewelers for the story.

The New York-based extravagant high-end jewelers of Eliantee & Co continue to create cutting-edge designs and make their high-end clientele “feel at home” after more than 10 years. Celebrities from the Kardashian’s and the Migos to Jeffree Star and Hailey Bieber get their custom bling from Elliot and his team. However, one celebrity has become a stand-out for their signature work: 26-year-old Philadephia rapper Lil Uzi Vert. Known for his many face tatts, micro dermal piercings, hairstyles, and androgynous sense of fashion, Uzi shows off his newest body modification on social media; a huge brilliant Pink diamond.

Elliot breaks down how Uzi approached him back in 2017 after falling in love with the stone. Originally, Elliot believed it to be a joke until the XO Tour Llif3 rapper began making payments. Although no stranger to requests for face jewelry, Elliot thought the placement a bit extreme, initially trying to talk Uzi out of it.

In a different interview, Uzi Vert told Fat Joe on IGTV the reason behind the specific placement. At first, the gem was to be set inside a ring. However, as the price for the rock began to really set it, he felt something worth so much shouldn’t be wrapped around his finger. Simply put, he didn’t want to misplace it.

“I’m Lil Uzi. I’m turnt up. So $24 million USD on a ring is the stupidest idea because I’m gonna look down and that ring ain’t gon’ be there…I know me. I wake up in odd places and different sceneries.”

And so, with the diamond paid off, consultants advised, and the placement finalized, Elliot got to work. He and his team specially engineered the mounting mechanism to clip and lock the precious metal into place. Although Eliantee & Co admit Lil Uzi Vert’s forehead implant has been their most extreme and extravagant accomplishment, they don’t think it will be last.
