11 cities were chosen by Kyrie Irving’s newest Nike Kyrie 6 collection. The 305 was one of them.

Brooklyn Nets’ Number 11 Kyrie Irving is known for his ball game on court and his sneaker game with Nike. However, fans may not know the significance the number 11 is for Kyrie; until now.

Several events and pattens have made 11 reoccurring in Irving’s life. First, his father Drederick wore the number during his collegiate and professional career. Kyrie was named Rookie of the Year, after getting a first overall pick in the year 2011. On March 11 of this year, he surpassed the 11,000 point mark. Finally, as of this year, Kyrie’s deal with Nike is worth $11 million.

So it’s truly no wonder why his latest Nike collection is based on the unique 11 cities selected for the Kyrie 6. According to Nike, the sneakers are ready for the paint. Flexible and responsive, they are meant to handle “fast and quick-cutting” plays; like the kind Kyrie delivers.

Each of the 11 colorways tells a story and gives a vibe specific to the city it represents, with each style releasing exclusively in that city. Out of the full collection, 4 cities chosen were U.S. based. Miami was one of the chosen 4.
