Nike Zoom Freak 1 releases “Employee of the Month” colorway inspired by Coming to America during All-Star Weekend.

The nostalgia has been hitting hard in the last few years. Particularly, in the sneaker world. Nike Basketball has a LeBron 17 Space Jam pack dropping during the much anticipated All-Star Weekend in Chicago. However, that’s not Nike’s only old school meets new school releases. Valentine’s Day will see the release of Nike Zoom Freak 1 Coming to America “Employee of the Month” edition.

Grecian Pro Basketball player Giannis Antetokounmpo dolls up the third colorway in his “Coming To America” in the iconic McDowells uniform Eddie Murphy wore in the 1988 film. Signature details include nods to his late father with Blue Rose on the outsole accompanied by geometric traction and the affirmation “I am my father’s legacy.”

The Black mesh toe box meets a two-tone Brown wavy asymmetrical internal forefoot bands that wrap around to the heel. Meanwhile, tartan tongues and predominant lateral Nike Swoosh and heel counter. The red laces and eyestays pop vibrantly against the muted upper. Subsequently, a Game Royal rubber clip extends from the White foam outsole up the side for medial support.

Additionally, the double Zoom Air units gives even more support than more basketball sneaker. Matching Game Royal appears of the padded collar and sockliner leading to static-like Giannis Antetokounmpo branding on the insert. University Gold thread forms the embroidered “Coming To America” right tongue, more Giannis Antetokounmpo branding on the left and the “34” featured on the heel. Likewise, University Gold appears on the medial quarter panel Swoosh.
