Virgil Abloh gives his take on the Nike Air Max with the Summer 2020 release of the Off-White x Air Max 90 “University Red.”

Thanks to Designer John Trottier, we have the first images of the Off-White x Nike Air Max 90 University Red posted on his IG account.

Virgil Abloh adds another Nike notch to his sneaker belt. The next on the docket is the Off-White x Air Max 90 dubbed “University Red.” Celebrating Air Max 30th Anniversary, this long rumored sneaker is finally set to release this Summer.

Building on Tinker Hatfield’s design, Off-White takes the breathable mesh upper and paints it University Red. Additionally, we appear to have matching Red suede overlays for the heel and the stitching on the toe box. The Red mesh continues through to the sockliner. Clean lines are kept, but dressed up with splashes of exotic Summer hues. Bright Mango Swooshes are paired with Hyper Jade overlays stitched at the ankle and heel.

Not forgetting its performance running roots, the Air Max 90 still delivers on phenomenal cushioning and a Waffle sole for traction and durability. The Brown foam midsole firmly supports the foot in stride. Subsequently, we can see a deconstructed tongue and low-top collar. We will also have White laces to match.
