Here’s a YankeeKicks detailed breakdown of the upcoming Verdy Wasted Youth x Nike SB Dunk Low releasing hopefully in the upcoming months. Japanese graphic designer turned full-fledged fashion icon Verdy creates a unique style all his own. With his two brands Wasted Youth and Girls Don’t Cry, Verdy tops the skate, fashion, art, music, and sneaker scene wherever he goes.
His last major design was in 2019’s Dunk Low Girl’s Don’t Cry. Now he’s back to take on another Dunk Low silhouette in all its punk-emo glory. Black denim carries the design, making up the underlays, showing of hints of White below the surface. While Black mesh makes up the tongue and synthetics cover the liner, tumbled leather hits the toe wrap, quarter panel Swoosh, and Wasted Youth branded heel counters. Heavy notes of patchwork find their way into the heel and toe sections as well as the quarter panel Swoosh and upper eyestays. University Red pops gorgeously on the asymmetrical heel stitching as well as the White-leafed Rose fusing with the lateral Swoosh. Subsequently, Black sole inserts reveal the phrases “No Thank You I Don’t Need Your Support” and “Don’t bother me anymore” above Nike SB branding. More White coats the tongue branding, midsole, and arch of the Black rubber outsole below. Stainless steel D rings hanging off the heel counter completes the edgy silhouette. Because of Verdy’s preference for in-store versus online drops the release date and retail price remain unknown. For now, enjoy the YankeeKicks original images for the Wasted Youth x Nike SB Dunk Low coming soon.
